Some people prefer an orderly house. Others seem to spew a constant stream of papers, wrappers, cups, plates, cell phone chargers, pens, etc. We aspire to keep the first floor of our house neat and tidy, with mixed success. (The mail comes every day, you know!) Mainly we make a big effort to keep the kitchen clean.
